An important thing to keep in mind, regardless of which anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-spyware and firewall you use -

( http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/default.mspx ) is to keep it UPDATED, just as it is important to make sure you have all windows critical and security updates +

http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us

Note: The way I have mine set is to only notify me that updates are availiable, but to not download them automaticaly. Then I can check to be sure I get just the ones I want. I then click on "custom", and after the updates have been downloaded I look them over to see which ones I want, then disconnect from the net, disable firewall and anti-virus program, and then install the updates, and then re-enable the firewall and anti-virus programs before reconnecting to the net. = http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306525

You will need to find out where in your computer it is stored. 1. Go to start- control panel- add and remove programs- find the program and click remove. As these little devils have a habit of hidding elswhere in the hardrive. next step is: Start - search type in the file name or part of the file name, it should pick it up if it is hidden. Make a note of where it is. when it shows - right click- remove. Run a disc clean up and delete all temp files. You can also delete temp files buy going to start- type in .tmp hit search. You will be surprised where the temp files get stored. You don't need .tmp files as they take a huge amount of memory over time.

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.getpchealthboost.com

It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.

Hi there,

Here's some detailed information on the Tattle Tale infection:

http://virusinfo.prevx.com/viruscenter.asp?returnpage=default&GRP=4877000021

The best and easiest way to remove this is by installing the Free Trial of Prevx1. This will scan your PC and remove this and any other infections free of charge.

Regarding XoftSpy - this is a program I would not touch with a ten foot pole. It has a very shady past having been guilty of actually INSTALLING malware rather than removing it, as well as claiming to remove spoof malware that doesn't even exist.

Avoid at all costs.

please download and install "spyware doctor 4.x or 5" from www.pctools.com ,update it fully and run a complete system scan with it in safe mode and then in normal mode, its a arawd winning software so it must detect your "spyware called pc tattletale", it's free to scan but you have to buy its lisence code to clean those spyware threats.

If you do not have firefox get it now and use it instead of internet explorer so you dont get any more spyware http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.com/

Patch up the holes first by Running Secunia Software Inspector http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.com/ .Securina will tell you which of your software is outdated and have holes in them through which the spyware/virus are entering.

To remove the spyware/trojan/virus run steps 1-2-3

1) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.com/2007/03/spybot-search-and-destroy-spyware-and.html do that now .Update it (Latest updates 11-04-2007) and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode

1b) Run AVG Anti-Spyware Free

or

SUPERAntiSpyware Home Edition (free version)

http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.com/2007/04/superantispyware-home-edition-free.html

2) Do an online virus scan to check and remove virus and spyware if you still have viruses on your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

http://securitynewsfromthenet.blogspot.com/2007/03/online-virus-scan.html
