Question:
I have these viruses?

My computer does not list them on my control panel in add/delete programs. I can not figure out where they are located to get rid of them. We tried to set the system back to an earlier saved date and that did not work. I have spy bot and it identifies them but it can't eliminate them. I tried using combofix too. It got rid of some stuff but not this virus. My stupid brother was surfing Uporn and picked this thing up. The only reason I can tell I still have it is because spy bot identifies it, and sometimes when I am browsing it redirects mozilla firefox to some pay me for protection from viruses site. I am not a computer guy. I posted a question like this earlier and the only answer I could understand well enough to utilize told me to restart my computer in safe mode and then run combofix. I also understood the answers that told me to return my computer to a previous saved point. I am running windows xp. Does anyone out there have a suggestion? I have tried several free virus programs and none have worked. My computer is running really slow. My other brother now has this same virus on his computer too. I keep getting signs about the IP address. I am connecting to the internet through an unsecured wireless network of one the businesses neighboring my home. Any information and suggestions will be appreciated. I am not a computer guy so if your gonna tell me to do something you gotta tell me how to do it too. Thank you for your help. What should I beware of here? Will these viruses steal my passwords to my bank if i pay bills online? The viruses that spybot will not eliminate that it lists are called "Fraud.WindowsProtectionSuite" and "Microsoft.Windows.RedirectedHost". What do these Viruses do and how do I get rid of them?

LMAO, Chris!

Alright so read the email I sent you. And also, you should know the following.

Whenever you have a wireless network you are usually cautioned to protect to prevent anybody from getting into the network. Not only so that somebody else doesn't surf your paid internet (that's the least of your worries). If somebody catches what your are transmitting then they can either get the transmitted information or if they're crafty enough, use that as an entrance to get into your computer. Passwords, bank accounts, tax information . . . whatever you store in there (whether you know you have it stored or not).

Applicably here is the fact that you are surfing an unsecured network and thinking you're being slick by stealing your neighbor's internet. It can be a gateway for them to get your info as prescribed above and often, hackers will leave their networks unsecured (the same way a venus flytrap leaves her mouth open just waiting for a fly to step inside).

i.e. you're only screwing yourself.

HI. The best thing to do if you can do it, is to download the following:-

Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware - http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

Run this program once installed. It should detect and remove the virused files/folders easily. Once this is done, you should be virus free, but to prevent it from happening again, I would recommend a good firewall. A program I use is:-

Comodo Personal Firewall - http://personalfirewall.comodo.com

Just download and install it. The rest is self explanatory. The program will learn your programs that are installed, and secure them from being hacked or virused.

To increase the performance of your computer, try downloading a program called AUSLOGIC BOOTSPEED. It is a PC optimisation program. Once installed, just click on the "One Click Maintenance" icon on your desktop.

Hope this helps

The best thing to do would be to run a full system scan with a fully functional and up to date antispyware application, this way ensuring your system is free of all parasites.

I suggest you checkout:

If you system is in fact loaded with dubious applications and infections, you will be provided with instructions on how to rid your PC of these unwanted programs.

Good luck!

Hi. Have you tried AVG?

If not, check it out at http://free.avg.com. After you download and install it, run a COMPLETE system scan.

Then, visit http://malwarebytes.org, and download and install it, and do a complete scan with it as well.

I use these 2 on my clients' computers all the time.

As far as what to be concerned with, well, it really depends on what all is on your machine. There could be spyware to capture your credit card info, and all of those horrible things. I see it happen a lot.

Feel free to contact me for more help.
