Which E-Mail provider would you say is the safest to use? None.

I use several different e-mail providers. Frankly, in my opinion, I think if you are using any e-mail provider, then there are risks involved, and it does not matter what the e-mail provider says to you, or anyone else, for that matter.

I read, and hear about people infecting their computers, and these people don't know what happened to their computers.

Some people have stupidly sent me different kinds of computer infections, and nobody seems to realize that I won't download something on my computer if I don't know what I would be downloading.

There are other issues that are more technical regarding e-mails that probably few people know about. Believe me when I say, if you don't know much about e-mails, then you could easily make a mistake, and do something you will regret later on.

None in the public, but perhaps you can create your own email provider and customise it the way you want and hire security experts to fix the vulnerabilities (if any) and it may become the safest.

But for safe, perhaps popular email providers like Yahoo! Mail, Outlook (formerly Hotmail), Gmail, iCloud, etc may be reliable.

Which E-Mail provider would you say is the safest to use?

The lesser of all the evils is Google Mail (gmail). No email provider is hack-proof. Some providers make it easy for hackers. There is MALWARE that sits on a server and waits for someone to log into their account and steal your information. Some sites know this little devil is there but choose to ignore it. But for the most part, ALL websites are safe. For now. What happens when they get tired of SONY?

I had gmail but sometimes they didn't filter the spam properly. I use thousand of email service provider, and I admit that Google does the best with security but once you insert the wrong data, you'll be banned permanently to get access to your own inbox. DUDE, 4 of my gmail account is locked permanently so I'm ending up making another email. Choose properly. I'll use Yahoo.

Yahoo Mail is very safe and easy to use, also very convincing if you use Yahoo Answers on a regular basis, an alternative would be Gmail because of how easy it is to use and also as mentioned before has a very simple user interface

You should define what you mean by "safest". If you mean the least amount of spam, I would say GMAIL.

Safe is really related to how secure your password and username are. Change your password frequently, using a "strong" formula combining numbers, punctuation, and upper/lower case.

Actually there is none Email service provider, who is fully SPAM free. In this case you should understand which is email is SPAM. Such as when you receive any mail, sometimes you can notice that TO: undisclosed recipient or something like this. This kind of Email was sent to many recipient at a time, it may be as SPAM.

I choose my personal DOMAIN Email & GOOGLE email. These both are good. Thanks

If you get a email account from comcast or other paid subscriptions to T.V. or internet, use that. You will be less likely to be spammed and less people will send you junk mail.

If that is not an option I would go with Yahoo or Gmail depending on what you are doing. For average emails I use Yahoo, for Youtube I use Gmail.

You should use the best once there is: Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo Mail.

Google's Gmail v/s Microsoft's Outlook v/s Yahoo Mail:

Google's Gmail has lots of apps connected to it, and many sites let you use gmail to login. so i guess Gmail lost.

Microsoft's Outlook v/s Yahoo Mail:

Microsoft use to read all our incoming Email's, to check if they are safe or not. (they don't anymore because people didn't like it).

Yahoo Mail has Norton security for checking for viruses and spam mails. (it is also like reading all your mails).

Result: it is your choice.

-if you don't want anyone to scan through your stuff use Outlook.

-If you don't mind antivirus companies going through your stuff use Yahoo mail.

None. The question is rather, what information do you want to protect ? I really don't care what is safe or what is not since the emails I send are not worth for some FBI guy to be reading. Who cares about the email I sent to one of my colleagues that I had a doughnut for lunch ? I don't care who reads it or what happens to it. The same goes for SMS, what's app ... All trivial data and information with no relevance or importance.

What YOU can do is to create your OWN mail server and make it as secure as you want. There are plenty of ways and security features you can implement. The difference and advantages of that are that

1.) You are in change of that mail server

2.) You decide on the security

If you have the hardware, the know-how and the funds, then you will make your own most secure mail server !

If by safest, you mean private and secure, than nothing based in the US. Any email service based in Switzerland or Germany is far more private. Have good security is pointless when the company hosting it is analyzing and selling everything in your inbox! Gmail and Yahoo are by far the WORST for that, read the terms of use, it's all in there!

Probably Gmail because there a big email group so they know that if they get hacked or something goes wrong with safety issues everyone with a Gmail account will delete there account and go get another one like Yahoo or Microsoft and those are some also good ones but in my opinion Google will not let you down. It has a REALLY good security system and this is coming from experience. Once in a while I forget my password and then so I have to go threw all this security stuff to make sure im really myself and not some hacker who is going to take all my information. This is a good thing in fact a VERY good thing. But trust me it's a pain to go threw but like I said it's worth it knowing your not going to get hacked, your information is safe, and you have a fun profile that allows you to email friends and chat. It is totally up to you but Google\Gmail is my suggestion. Have fun looking for the website that's right to you. I hope it's safe and fun to use!

David,

There is no such thing as safest email provider. whatever email service you use you will definitely receive spam messages. Once my Hotmail account got hacked and it was very difficult for me to restore the same. They can take all the information they want from your sent emails. Its easy to fall a prey to the spammer and hacker once your email account is posted in social networking sites.

This is basically a long-winded question with no finite answer.

The only things we have to consider is basically privacy, security and design. (We can't be using an old Windows 95-themed e-mail box)

I would personally say Gmail as I have to for a long time now and I haven't had much issues. Microsoft Outlook is also worth checking out anyway. However this is just on my views, and different people have their different opinions. Just check on all of them and see which fits your choice.
