so I live in a building that has a lot of people and some of them are no lifers meaning that they found the password for my WiFi in a day I know this because my internet is so slow and its supposed to be very fast there's at least 4 people using my WiFi and its secured using WPA2-PSK. I'm tired of changing the password every other day so I don't want to change it i want to make the WiFi so slow to the other people that they'll have to stop using it and get their own, I use my WiFi to play xbox live, get on my computer and on my phone and that's it. So how can I make my internet slower to other people using it without interfering with my xbox, computer and phone connection. I have a Cisco router and a i think a Surfboard modem and I have Cox communications. I really don't know who the people that are taking my WiFi are or what number they live at but I change the password and then the first few hours the internet is working really fast but then it starts slowing down and I start to lag.

easier to set you router to better security

1. turn off broadcasting - make private network

2. Use WAP2 personal security

3 and most important set up MAC Address filtering

There is probably a key-logger on your machine, that's a virus that transmits everything you type to a file that can be read on a remote machine. check with a good antivirus program. no way you can slow it down for them. just have to get a secure password. They could also be somehow hacking your router. Ask tech support for your router and if it is not new, replace it and call tech support if someone hacks it.

use mac filtering so only registered computers can connect , expensive routers also allow bandwidth allocation
