I recommend using Skype instant messenger/ video chat because it has a file server system that helps improve uploading speed and resume disconnected uploads. I'm afraid you have to do the old fashion upload and download. It should take about 1-2 days worth of upload, depending on your uploading speed. Info for Skype http://www.skype.com
There is a faster way but a bit more technical.
1). Split your files "movie" using File Splitter 4.5a, totally free http://download.cnet.com/File-Splitter/3000-2248_4-10405033.html so each file can be under 2.0GB. I recommend each file to be about 1.5GB big so 1.5 x 3 = 4.5GB.
2). You would have to use http://www.largefilesasap.com/ to send the files to your friend's e-mail so he can receive it, by using this way he can download it anytime he wants so it's more convenient.
3. I know for a fact that the broadband such as Cable or DSL in the United Kingdom stinks because my friends over there said so. I recommend going to a University which usually has a fiber optic line such as a standard T3, DC-3+, OC-3+ even! So you can upload a lot faster using their internet than yours. If I'm right you should be able to upload over 700kbps to 10.3mbps using the University line if you have your laptop connected on their ethernet line "Please use a Cat5a ethernet wire".
4). Good luck!

you won't be able to deliver that great of a report over the internet, different than to chop up it. yet on your case, you do no longer desire to head that direction. the ideal thank you to deliver that length of a report on your sister is to, burn it onto DVD and/or DVD's and deliver it for the duration of the Postal provider and/or the different transport provider. U.S. postal may be the main inexpensive. the only incorrect way, could be to... Use a video application and manually chop up the video report into... (permit's say) section a million, section 2, section 3 and so on. in case you do it astounding, you will possibly have adequate of smaller areas to e mail on your sister.

Could be a problem.
Suggest your friend sends you a DVD by international mail.
Even if you could find a webserver that would let you post a 4.5GB file it would take forever to upload it.

is there any way this file can be compressed? then find a utility that can break it down into "bite-sized chunks" at his end, then be used to reassemble them at your end. 4.5GB = 4608MB
If it was me, I'd break it down into about 20 pieces.
Good luck!
