AVG is not a good antivirus. But it is not very bad. There are many better antiviruses so i don't recommend you to go with AVG. Choose any other free antivirus except Microsoft Security Essentials. It's the worst.

It is known to all that we must not get 100% satisfaction in a single banded Antivirus, Some make better support for the Virus, some for the Malware, Some has light weight functional activity. So No one is the perfect, However, AVG has full scan option, doesn't make slow the Computer.

Its not a bad antivirus persay. It does the job but it works a little differently. It doesn't block in realtime, is the problem. Rather than checking the malware at the door it will let it through and then the heuristics will pick it up and it will attempt to deal with it once its in. Which is all well and good if its easy to remove but for some things it can be a pig.

I have helped hundreds of friends / colleagues with computer issues - they`ll pay £100s of pounds but then think a free antivirus is going to get the job done. if you buy a 2 year 5 item license for Norton Security that costs £8 per year per item - you know thats good and it covers tablets and phones does backups and cleanups to - use Norton for umpteen years never a virus. Stay away from anything that wants to install a toolbar - and any sort of cloud storage they`ve all been hacked. The same applies to ALL the social networking sites / programs.

No it's not a bad choice( unlike Microsoft Security Essentials and Defender), It's quite good actually.
It's firewall is cool , deep root scan is available.
But It lacks somewhere in the detection area ( Not as bad as Norton though).
Still it's your choice as the virus or other stuff would only come via storage drives ( And as soon as those bad stuff comes through Internet the firewall will protect you)

Yes best one is Panda antivirus and here is why. 1. It is free and 2. It runs in the cloud instead of on your pc leaving your pc very fast and not lagging it. Get it below in the freestufff area at that site

Norton, Avast, and AVG are alright imo but please be sure your virus scanner has a Full Scan option! Do not use quick scan it is not really effective and watch for torrenting because I have encountered viruses on them and removed them. Just avoid bad sites and download a site protector extension some viruses can't fully be detected with virus scanners though. You can tell if you got a virus sometimes if you lag really bad.

It's not bad. It's actually decent, but turn off it's web scanning "cloud" scanning or it will slow you down a lot. Avast is also decent for free. I just use plain Micro$oft Insecurity Essentials and back my stuff up! I always have a full disk image backup. That way when I wear my hard drive out scanning it for viruses, and it dies, I still have my data to restore to my new drive..:)

AVG detection is bad. You can try Avast or there's TrendMicro, Nod32. Panda might slow your computer, has good detection though.
Norton may have good detection, but it is a terrible product to put on your computer.
If your on a budget go with: (you might find lower prices in-store)
http://www.trendmicro.com/
If you want something better at a bigger price:
http://www.eset.com/
If you insist on free:
http://www.avast.com/

AVG would be bad choice. Avast Antivirus is the best of all. I have its registration key till 2050. :) It detects virus quickly and moves ot to vault. You can delete it from there.

I think AVG internet security is best than the AVG Antivirus. I suggest you to use AVG Internet Security-2015. More than 4 year I use AVG and its user interface is more user friendly than the others. The main advantage of using AVG is, it does not show down user's PC.

AVG is not bad but they tend to delete any threat including false alarm. I tend to use AVIRA over AVG.

It's pretty good, but don't expect it to keep you safe from viruses though. If a hacker has done his job right there is nothing you can do to stop it.
