Since this week, everytime I go to my desktop on Windows 8, Internet Explorer keeps redirecting me to a russian website called Smartinf.ru. I want to remove it so much but I can't. I tried using Spyhunter, nothing, Malwarebyte, nothing, removing infested registry and files, nothing. It seems that nothing works at all to get rid of this Smartinf.ru. I tried looking for answers but its the same process i did in which they do not get rid of Smartinf.ru at all. I tried resetting my internet explorer settings, again Nothing. I feel like I need to rebuild my pc of that is my only way.

you need to install anti-virus software.

A free one is called "Comodo Antivirus"

But before you do that, restart your computer and as soon as it starts turning on

tap the letter F8 ontop keyboard one time every second, keep doing that untill you get to a screen

that lets you choose "safe mode with networking" the networking means "internet"

The reason you do that is so the virus wont work.

So download Comodo antivirus and do a full scanwhile in safe mode.

While its doing that, go into internet explorer add-ons and disable all of them.

Also in internet explorer options, make sure your home page is set to what you want it to be.

Then go into control panel and uninstall all the junk software you see.

But simply doing a virus scan should work fine.

After all that you can also try a new browser. I like Chrome or Mozilla firefox.

Before, my computer always redirected me to places when I clicked on things. So, I put all my word documents onto a USB, reset my computer, and put all the documents back. I am not sure if it will work for you, since I do not have a life... and am proud of it. What I want to say is that you might have important things that are not word documents...

Usually, the built-in Reset option might be useful. Second, clean adware and other PUPs from your system. Remember to clean temporary files - do so when you close all browsers.
