Comodo is rated higher in all tests, and all their products are free.

I use ZA Security Suite mostly because it was free (with rebate), but I use Comodo on another system. I find ZA easier to work with as I'm more familiar with it, but will likely change to Comodo and Avast! Anti-virus when ZA runs out.

Comodo Internet Security uses Comodo's Firewall and gets high scores on Firewall testing sites, such as Matousec, and has regularly been included in the top three firewalls.

A firewall is only as good as its end user.....EVERYONE of you who has answered this question, has completely left out IPV4....both firewalls can easily be subverted with a spoofed IP addy using IPV4(http)...both are equally leak tested...who ever said comodo has leaks is just ignorant...I switched from ZA to COmodo a while back because i like the gui better...Block all incoming connections....also block ALG.exe(application layer gateway) and any another app that is actively connecting without your express permission...NEVER remember any of your permissions as this will also leave you exploitable...lastly block all IPV4...how do you think comodo communitcates with CA SERVERS and updates WITHOUT EVEN ASKING YOU? GOOD LUCK to all the nubs and not so nubs who don't know what your doing. Follow these instructions and you should be ok

Both are almsot indistinguishable in protection, I would just advise downloading Comodo because it is both easier to uninstall (when the time comes ZoneAlarm is a pain) and also Comodo is more compatible with other security programs.

Comodo also has slightly better user reviews, so I'd say its a better bet. As long as you configure it right you'll be fine.

Hope this helps

Good luck

Zone Alarm is far less perplexing to income and use than Comodo. Used the two and prefered the Zone Alarm interface. Plus Zone Alarm has been accepted to bypass all 17 leak checks, i do no longer understand approximately Comodo...

I have both. I somewhat favor Comodo because it has the "install" mode when installing software, and allows the monitoring of registry changes. With Zonealarm, I find I need something like SpyBot Teatimer to monitor the registry effectively.

However, both are generally good, just depends on what you want in them...

i'll prefer COMODO. not for the reason that i comes from very reputed company, but i've found many tutorials to personalise COMODO firewall for different browsers, different file sharing websites. some people don't prefer it. but when you can personalise it, then those points will be minor issues.

Comodo is a much better firewall than Zonealarm. But this is a big but, you need to spend some time learning how to use it. In the wrong hands it's a waste. Plus it's famous for memory leaks. Most users who have Comodo on their computers don't have it configure right, and so are not getting the protection they think, they are getting. You will get cryptic pop-ups and you have to know what the program is and should you allow or deny it. User like to say they have the best firewall, so they use it. But when you get a pop up like SbieCtrl.exe is trying to install a global hook. The warning comes up in red, which means danger, allow or deny. Just denying everything and programs won't run. Allow the wrong program and you've got a trojan running wild. I put good security, in a computer, then show the user how not to get infected. No infection, no need for the strong two way firewall. But if you use P2P file sharing then go with Comodo, that way when you get infected you can stop the malware from getting info out.
