I purchased an anti spyware program; however, when i try to install the program i get a message that says....."application can not be executed. The file autorun. exe is infected." I also tryed system restore that doesn't work either.

There is also a program called 'Antispyware Soft' that keeps poping up, it keeps telling me my system is infected, so is it safe? I feel uncomfortable punching in my personal information esspecially my bank card number, that is why i purchased another program down a best buy. Anways i don't know what to do.

Thanks in advance.

Here is what you need to do:

1.Restart your computer in safe mode with networking

-to start in safe mode click F8 repeatedly while your computer is booting.

2.Go to www.cnet.com

-click on the tab (under the cnet search bar) that says windows

3.Download all of three of the following

-Avast Anti VIrus (make sure you uninstall NORTON or WHATEVER YOU CURRENTLY HAVE)

-Super Anti Spyware

-Malwarebytes Anti Malware

4.Update everything...

5.Now run a complete scan while in SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING

6.The trojans will be found after all the scans are complete so RELAX

7.Repeat steps 4,5, and 6 weekly to prevent future breakouts...

NOTE: DONT FORGET TO UPDATE EVERYTHING DAILY PLEASE!!!

Antispyware Soft is a fake antivirus program. Antispyware Soft is a copy of Antivirus Soft and Antivirus Suite. Antispyware Soft is generally installed through the use of a trojan horse. Antispyware Soft will block all applications unless the file name of the executable of the application is iexplore.exe u will need to download a program that removes this "fake anti-virus" heres a link of a program that u can download to remove ur computers virus http://www.virusremovalguru.com/?p=6088

First off...it doesn't affect Mozilla Firefox. Secondly, the best way to remove it is to do a system restore. Go to Start>Run>msconfig and go from there. You have about 10 seconds to do this since the virus will start up fast.....then click restore and pick a previous date. If you don't want to do restore...do the same method, but click start up in msconfig. The file usually ends in tssd, sftav, svscan, svsoft, svsuite, sysguard etc.. (you will have to google other possible file names because it's tricky and changes it often). Look for these file names and click to disable at start up. Then restart...you will have control of your computer for the time being. Then you can go into your computer and do a search for the various file names I mentioned and erase them. If you don't, it will come back. You should also go to Start>Run>regedit and look for the files in your registry. Malwarbytes did not work for me either....I used others too..and it couldn't find it. Make sure when you are searching that you look in hidden files too by clicking on advanced options in search. Good luck!

Antispyware Soft is not safe, it's a fake antivirus program and it reports false system security threats. You should use reputable anti-malware software to remove Antispyware Soft virus from your computer as soon as possible. Please follow the removal instructions on the link below. Good luck!

"well, it depends if your computer and how fast it is. my list is: AVG Free: simple and don't use a lot of memory Spybot search and destroy: my spyware preventer and deleter Avira antivirus: my second backup program that catches the stuff that avg misses, i also went into avira's advance settings and put the protection on its highest Comodo firewall 3: its one of the best and most impregnable firewalls, but make sure you disable the defense + feature, as it is annoying and is only an extension so its not really needed, unless you want it. i keep it simple for maximum protection and performance of a computer, i try not to install trash that work half way and use too much resources" these programs will cover most, if not all of the wholes there are in your computer. it is one of the most simple and unlike norton antivirus and other big commercial programs, its free and does not use a lot of resources to sustain it.

I had a similar situation with antispyware soft virus just a couple days back. I read that SpyNoMore removes this virus so I gave it a try. It worked fine for me and did as it promised.

it is a fkae rogue spyware virus attack wich is known as ANTISPYWARE SOFT, it is not a real antispyware but a virus itself. to get rid of antispyware soft, install an antispyware real program or follow the manual removal instructions within this link

you have a virus don't put any personal info in to your computer malwarebytes is a good program but if this virus is anything like system security you are most likely going to have to wipe it
