i just went onto a website, and an Avast! alert came up, saying a trojan horse had been found
the options were, rename, delete, no action, or move to chest.
the reccomended action was 'move to chest' so i clicked that... what does this mean? have i gotten rid of the trojan horse or not?

You did the right thing. It's in your chest it can't get out. You can delete it anytime you want.

No the trojan is not removed it is isolated to a quaaratine for now. usually these items are quaaratined untill a removal tool can be found for these.

actually what you did was probably allow the virus into your computer. You should not have clicked on it at all. Run your anti-virus, mal-ware, anti-spyware, etc and hopefully it will delete it for you
