Hi

I suggest you boot into Safe Mode (press F8 when your computer starts) and then download, update and scan with Superantispyware free and Malwarebytes Antimalware.

Then update Kaspersky to the latest version (2009).

AntiVirXP08, or Anti Vir XP 08,AntivirusXP2008, Antivirus XP 2008 is the latest rogue antispyware program. AntiVirXP08 is a clone of XP Antivirus or WinAntivirusPro. Usually AntiVirXP08 infection can come after fake video codec installation that can come with Trojan, malware or virus inside. AntiVirXP08 will generate misleading system popup, error messages and scan reports to trick user into buying AntiVirXP08 "full" version.

It is very important to delete all AntiVirXP08 components to prevent damage to hardware. Do not trust any fake messages that AntiVirXP08 shows and remove it as soon as possible! To effectively delete AntiVirXP08 files www.Pcthreat.com have listed files for manual removal.

Install spybot on to your computer. Runs in conjuction with any other virus ware. Latest version is 1.5.2

Free and safe.

1. Load a the latest version for your location.

2. Update the software - follow the instructions.

3. Make certain you immunise to protect your computer :-Immunise using the left column menue.

Then second immunise to install to your computer - another tab appears after first immunise download.

4. Do a search/destroy using spybot.

5. After fully downloading I advise selecting 'mode' and use the 'advanced mode' setting rather than the 'default' setting.

hi... ive just had it on my computer and all I did was to disconnect from the broadband and then do a system restore to a date three days before...

once that was done I restarted the machine in safe mode by pressing f8 on startup, just after the bios screen and then right click my computer and properties and then select system restore ... turn it off and then turn it back on again and this will remove the viruses in the restore files and then return to the desktop. I then ran superantispyware which is free which I already had installed on my computer.

restarted my computer and reconnected the broadband and everything has been ok since...

you might see the files left on your desktop by the virus and you can just delete these

good luck
