I just recently started working in a n office that had very poor computer security. I set up Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Webroot Spy Sweeper when I noticed that one of our emails was sending out junk mail to our business contacts! However, these programs did not fix the problem. What can I do to stop this? We are using Outlook Express.

Do you host your own email using an internal email server you have access to, or does your email get provided by an ISP?

If you do your email through an ISP, then simply change all your passwords and do a spyware sweep on all machines that have access to send and receive emails.

However if you host your own email server, you should probably think about wiping it and starting again.

If you are on a network then all the PCs attached and the servers need scanning. If its a stand alone then that needs to be scanned. This is done by a virus which uses the mail protocols to send out this junk. The best way to do it is to reformat the PC(s). Download a free scanner from Sophos.com and use that. Its very good and has network scanners too.

sorry it can only go in your junk mail. either make a new email address or deal with what you have. yahoo does a really good job on spamming unwanted emails I don't even notice and they empty themselves too. even if you sign up for a new email you will still get spam.

Change the pass to the email account, and don't check "Keep me signed in"
