Question:
How do I get rid of KDE?

So i Wanted to try KDE and when i looked it up online i found you had to install the Kubuntu Plasma environment from Ubuntu Softwear Center. so i did that but when i tried KDE i ended up not likeing it as much as Cinnimon or Unity. so i switched out of it at the login screen and always use Cinnimon now. my problem is that KDE has worked its way deeply into my computer. for example when i boot up it says KUBUNTU instead of UBUNTU. also there are a TON of apps that I will probably not use that came with KDE, its kind of getting really anoying becuse I decided i dont like KDE but i cant get rid of it. even though im using a different dektop environment.

You can uninstall packages through the Software Center too.

I'm guessing you installed a meta package, either kde-standard or kde-plasma-desktop. Running "sudo apt-get remove" along with the relevant package name in a Terminal ought to uninstall all the KDE apps on your machine.

Just uninstall all the apps etc you do not want. Or take out the whole plasma environment.
