Routers and IP adresses?

I am a university student and am learning about hacking and penetration testing...but I have a question. I have a small lab at home with two computer connected wireless to a router. Is the ip adress for the two computers the same? I heard its different but on http://www.whatismyip.com/ it gives the same ip for both computers.

Another question I have is if the ip adress for wireless computers changes every time the user connects to it...how does that hacker keep track of his/her target?

thanks

If you need to ask this, you are on the wrong course. This is basic network information, first lesson. EVERY machine on a network MUST have a different IP address, or the network can not talk. If you really are at university, get your money back and go somewhere else. Personally I don't believe you and in any case it would be illegal with up to 30 years in prison for anyone to give you hacking related assistance on a public site. Especially one monitored by every government agency due to the number of illegal requests for hacking help. And a site which records all your details for 7 years as evidence.

whatismyip.com is only going to show you your internet facing IP address. I assume you're behind a NAT gateway ("router" if you must), so all of your computers share the same public IP address. Each computer behind the "router" will have a private IP address. This is what you're going to want to throw your attacks at. If you type ipconfig on any of them you'll see an address like 192.168.1.x. The X should be the only number that is different from computer to computer.

regardless of if a hacker is able to get the router's IP handle, he/she would be waiting to no longer comprehend the router's password to get right of entry to that is settings. There are hacking how you may hack WPA, yet i do no longer comprehend approximately MAC filtering. MAC addresses are in hardware, so i do no longer comprehend if on the spot MAC handle spoofing is obtainable or no longer. once you're worried approximately somebody else using your cyber web connection, then verify your router's logs as quickly as in awhile to be sure if all people else is logging onto your router.
