You see, I have this documents in my PC that I don't want anyone to read OR to even merely glance at.

If this exist, how do you add a password or any security to prevent individuals from opening a file? Specifically MS Word files.

If that password is non-existent, are there other ways to restrict people from opening a file?

Privacy is just something I treasure.

Thanks in advance.

you can do that without any program

just cut the files you don't want anyone to see and paste in new folder

then rename the folder 0160 using your numpad while holding down ALT then right click the folder properties\customize\change icon there are two icons that are not seen-able above the empty recycle bin icon

choose one then press ok

but always remember where the folder is because it will be hidden in normal case

There are programs which you can use to password protect your files.

My LockBox is a good program to do this: http://www.download.com/My-Lockbox/3000-2144_4-10789387.html?tag=mncol

Just download the program from the above link and install it. The rest is pretty much self explanatory.

Overview of My Lockbox

"My Lockbox is a freeware software application that allows you to password protect whatever file on your computer. The protected folder (lockbox) is hidden from any user and application of your system, including Administrator and System itself. It is impossible to access the lockbox not only from the local computer, but also from the net."

You can't actually password specific files as far as I know but you can download a free program called 7zip, an open source compressor, put them in a Zip file and password it, I do that with my digital journal!

Good luck!
