Hi, I'm having a problem right now and I need your help.

When I load Windows, it says it encountered a problem with 'userinit' and shuts it down. I need to press 'ctrl+alt+del' to bring the Task Manager up - and there, I need to activate 'explorer.exe' manually in order to view my desktop. The Task Manager also shows me some *.tmp files (18.tmp for example). Also, I can't surf to any sites that may supply me with an Anti-Virus and not even the Microsoft site.

Is there a way to repair the system without formating it? That's very important. I have the Win XP CD near me.

I will appreciate your help and will stay around to provide more info if you need it.
