DIY style. For shits and giggles, just to see if it works. I've been watching spy movies and it sounds like a fun project. What parts would I need to make it on a budget, or is it just programming? I don't know much about computers.

It's just programming.

There are hardware-based keyloggers but unless you're handy with a soldering iron it might be a pain to make one.

a key logger is a program, not a device that attaches to a computer. you also have to have some knowledge about very detailed information on the targets computer. you also need to know programming and have some fairly expensive software to make it properly. so once you learn to program, which is the equivalent of learning to speak a new language fluidly, you need to design a key logger like no one has ever made so that antivirus programs dont recognize it and quarantine it.

i could go on and on with what you need but im pretty sure what i said here discourages you from doing it.

Look on a torrent site for Ardamax Keylogger. Its my favorite. You can even compile a very small program (less than 1mb) and execute it on someone elses computer to key-log their computer.

Google it. You can download them for free. Very easy to use, just install and hide it on your victims PC. It will store every single letter pressed in a text file. Enjoy.

Why do you REALLY want to know? Giggles does not seem to be a sufficient reason for going to the trouble.
