Question:
How can I remove Win 32 virus from my laptop?
2011-06-28 10:51:59 UTC
I have Win32 trojan in my laptop.

My antivirus is ESET NOD32. It is fully updated.

Now, the antivirus is detecting the virus but when i try to quarantine or delete the virus... a message window appears which says "Error in deleting".

So the virus is still alive and infecting my C drive.

I tried to use Stinger to remove it but stinger can not even detect it.

I don't want to format my laptop. Please help me to remove this virus.

Thank you

you can try to boot it up in safemode and delete the virus with various programs. keep in mind you can also reformat the hard drive and wipe it straight off the hard drive. however this will also wipe your personal files. make sure you back up your files first before you reformat. you can use a hard drive enclosure that allows you to access files on the hard drive without having to log in through the operating system and the virus. i use a bt-300 by topmicrousa that i would suggest you also look into.

after you are done backing up your files, reformat your hard drive then recopy and you should be good.

if you have any other questions feel free to send me an email and ill do my best to help \(^_^)/

You will probably need better anti-virus software. I use Symantec and it works great. Try one of these downloads:

If all else fails do a system restore. It does not completely reformat your hard drive, only restores the memory of the computer to an earlier date.

ok at the start do no longer panic. you have Microsoft protection necessities, which will handle the annoying virus for you. What you may desire to do is do an entire test with MSE, and it will discover each and all the viruses on your computer. while that is completed, there'll a catalogue of threats got here across and what you may desire to do is press the delete determination and it will immediately eliminate them.
