My computer has been VERY slow, i have tried everything like deleting temp files, history, cookies. I also did disk cleanup and defragment. So, i went to try to remove some programs i dont use. And i found about 30 of these files: "Security Update for Windows XP (KB911562)".......and also about 20 of these "Windows XP Hotfix (BK700587).
Can i remove these?

How about doing a full set of housekeeping including anti spyware.

As you will appreciate there are many reasons why your computer is running slow:

I have listed the most obvious, some of which you may have already tried but for completeness they are mentioned here.

First of all make sure you do not have any malware in the form of viruses or spyware. Run your anti virus and anti spyware programs in order to clear out any beasts.

If you do not have any protection these are exceptional and available for free:

Anti virus I suggest:

Anti spyware I suggest:

Remove junk & temporary Internet files by running Ccleaner – free for download from:

Your hard disk(s) may be fragmented. Windows has a built in defragmentation program but you can download a third party program for free:

Your registry may be cluttered or corrupt. Ccleaner mentioned above also has a registry cleaner but how about downloading another very good free registry cleaner:

http://www.eusing.com

You may have too many programs kicking off at start up. These free downloads allow you to control what applications run at start up:

Your hard disk may be getting full. You need at least 15% of free space for it to operate efficiently. Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs & remove any applications you no longer use. How about removing all those pictures & music that is filling up your hard drive?

Finally, after you have done all the above may need to upgrade your RAM. So that you get the right type of RAM for your system do a free scan at Crucial to determine your RAM.

Good luck with your quest and I hope these suggestions improve your system.

Not only should you NOT delete those files, your computer should be setup for automatic updates to keep it secure, and to keep it up to date as much as possible. These files are a good thing. They should not be the cause of your computer being slow. It is often caused by having too much junk running in the background. Many programs are simply not needed, and besides slowing your computer down, they just take up space. Even many anti-spyware and anti-virus programs can really slow your system down. This can happen if the program is set to do a complete check of your system every time you boot up, or if they check each and every file as it is opened. There are lots of possibilities. A good place to start is to remove any unnecessary software, such as junk that you downloaded that you never use. Uninstall them. Thats a good starting point. But definitely leave the security patches and hotfixes alone!

Definitely not. These are Windows updates and patches that keep your operating system and other Windows programs secure.

if you want to leave your PC vulnerable to attacks from hackers and malicious software, go for it.......one thing you might try is running msconfig and stopping any unneeded programs from running on start up
