Antivirus 2008 is a rogue anti-malware program that displays false results and requires you to first purchase the software before you can remove anything.

Follow the instructions down below in the link and the tool to use is Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Scroll down to "Automated Removal Instructions for Antivirus 2008 using Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware:" Please ignore the Google ads because they are not free and some are dodgy.

Try avg 8 free trial or Threatfire

Just google search them to find where to download from.

Threatfire actually found a trojan on my friends laptop that turned out to be an illegal patch to validate windows. These are normally accepted as part of the system files so it cant be that bad.

Download AVG antivirus free addition from lavasoft.com. Then run a scan and it should pick up any problems. Also download an antispyware programme and run it. A good one is adaware se personal. Try that and if it all fails then put in your xp disc and format the hard drive to wipe everything off your pc.

try to end the process of the virus., then if u already know the complete filename of the virus. search for it, then check the Search hidden files and folders on more advanced menu on search window.., put there the virus' filename complete, then delete it.. also search on google or yahoo for what .dll u nid to remove for removing those viruses.... if u cant delete it, try it on safe mode,. same process

its just a spoofer dll

open windows/system32 directory

view as details

sort by date modified

mouse over dlls working from lastest down the list

look for odd names like ddhgje etc

and no mouse over name of file reveal of

vendor data

valid dlls will reveal company and application data on mouseover

search registry start/run/regedit

for the dll file name

delete all occurances of file name match

restart PC and go back to windows/system32 directory and delete the dll

Run Smitfraudfix in safe mode (tap f8 during start up to get the startup options) and use the '2. Clean' option, then clean the machine with Super AntiSpyware, that should solve your problem :]
