Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some regsitry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow".
Everytime you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Regisry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!
There are some comparison and review of TOP 5 registry cleaners.

You can download and scan your computer for free.

Hi,
It appears that the problem is not because of Windows, try these:
1. Clean all the Internet temporary files (go to Tools > Options > General tab > Delete files - in IE).
2. Main cause could be your Internet connection, i.e. you are using a dial up connection. Try to upgrade to broad band or if you don't have this much use, then try to change your ISP.
3. If you already are using a broadband connection, then go for more bandwidth (i.e. if now 128K go for 256K).
4. Reduce the number of users or stop sharing one Internet connection with many users because heavy dowloading by one or more users, will affect the entire connectivity for other users.
Hope it helps!

Go into the control panel
click the internet icon
delete cookie and pages in history (do it every few days)
You will have to sign in all the time...but it is worth it
Then find system tools on your computer from accessories
Run disk clean up and disk defragmenter
This should help

System is working slow gives indication of some viruses still residing in your system. Download the MWAV toolkit, & scan your system. It will detect all the viruses.

Go for a good antivirus. eScan antivirus is a good one i can suggest. It has features like antivirus, antispam, antispyware, pop-up blocker, auto updates, scheduled scanning of your system etc.
setting up one solid anti-virus. i pick to advise Kaspersky or Bit Defender. save a great firewall. no longer the abode windows firewall. Its valueless. Use Zone Alarm firewall. For maintenance, use song Up Utilities. It has efficient registry and disk cleaners and uninstall supervisor. relax alongside with email scanner, ms workplace scanner and different application oriented scanners are actually not necessary in case you hold the reported components as much as date.

Are you sure it's really clean? Have you used more than one virus scan? You should try that as most virus software doesn't get rid of every virus. Also, you may just need more RAM.
