Question:
Problem with Windows XP Updates?
?

I've continuously tried to update my windows XP updates.
Every time i initialise the updates it says they have been completed, when i click out of the download window, the little yellow update icon reappears on my toolbar (bottom right). When i click on it, it just reinstalls all the updates again - the same step happens as before. It seems that the updates aren't installing properly.

Any suggestions?
I've tried restarting etc, i am now to the point where i have my updates turned off, as the icon is annoying me!

If you are using 32bit Windows XP, verify that you have Service Pack 3 installed. Microsoft ended public support for 32bit XP Service Pack 2 a couple months ago.

Yeah, it became SP3. this is everyday to create matters on some rigs althou maximum dont have probs putting it in. could have been updating itself after putting the SP3 in inflicting the rig to run gradual and it could have probably have been given back to established velocity had your dad purely given it a while to reconfigure itself. could of even been able to get onto the internet if the rig became updating the Lan drivers. do not probably want SP3 even though it does have some superb valuable factors.

there are no XP updates you are just accessing the same files, the update program goes to the microsoft server regardless of whether there are updates available or not, microsoft are not supporting XP any more they want you to buy 7

after they install does it ask u t restart, those files r held in a temp folder, try doing a check disks for error's & a defrag both in r HD properties in tools, then a disk clean-up. Hope that helps>:)
