....proxy Help....?

"Anonymous proxies may hide your identity from the endpoint, but proxy server logs can still tie your real IP address to your actions. This is only a problem if you are doing something illegal and the owner of the proxy you used gets subpoenaed. Your ISP will know everything you do on the internet no matter what you do since they act as a gateway for all information passed between you and the internet, although SSL encryption may keep certain details from them in some cases." this was the answer i recived. but what is SSL and ISP and the real IP adress? what do they mean

what is SSL and ISP and the real IP adress? SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer. The SSL encrypts data sent between you and a host. It does NOT affect the header and address information because that is needed to route the packets from one place to another. No one between you and the host can read the raw data in the packet. It is like email with encrypted text. You can read everything BUT the text at every point between the ends of the path the packet takes. ISP - Internet Service Provider, which is your entry point to connect to the web. Your ISP assigns you an IP address from a pool they have assigned to them. When you connect to your ISP, they pick an address from the availble pool and assign it to your connection. This address is dynamic, meaning it can change from one time that you connect to the next time you connect. Some ISP's, for a fee, will assign you a static IP address, one that is yours and yours alone. The IP address is actually a 32 bit binary number grouped into 4 groups of 8 bits. It is expressed in decimal for each of the groups, separated by a dot. Each group of 8 bits can have a value of 0 to 255, so an address has the form of 0.0.0.0 through 255.255.255.255. There are some addresses which are excluded from this set for special uses. For example most cable modems and DSL connections use 192.168.x.x as the local network which does not get forwarded by ISP routers which is why none of these addresses are seen by anyone outside your home network.

SSL is a security measure to encrypt messages sent through the internet. It's very common.

ISP stands for Internet Service Provider. Pretty much self explanatory. It is the company that gives you the ability to connect to the internet. Ex: AT&T, Verizon, etc.

IP Adress is a set of numbers given to you by your ISP. It acts much like the address you have for your home. Everyone that connects to the internet has one.

Proxies are just a way to go on the web without people tracking what you do, although your ISP can always check if you're doing something illegal.
