I have got a virus from a song on lime-wire, i knew about it straight away so i installed anti-virus software (AVG) and started a scan. I found viruses and it moved them to the vault. Now when they are in the vault, how to i clean them off my computer for good?? also it sometimes comes up when im doing stuff on my computer "Threat detected, the following file is infected" but there is not button saying "Delete virus"

Help please this is a Truly frustrating matter!

?. U installed an anti-virus after you got a virus? What warned you that the file was infected in the first place,Limewire? I don't think you're going to have your PC much longer if you keep these practices up. AVG is weak and most that use it are infected with viruses that they can't get rid of;add Threatfire to boost your protection. Or dump them both and get either Avira AntiVir Personal 9 or avast! Home Edition 4.8. You'll also need a firewall and anti-spyware. Ask about these.

the two suggestions are available free for personal use at CNET http://www.downloads.com

Usually when a virus program is removed to the vault a vault is usually a cut of file system that isn't connected to the rest of your computers files stopping it from spreading. I think Linux uses this method for its actual computer system which is why its quite secure. The delete option I can't help with soz I don't own AVG at the moment.

In the vault I think there safe but I had the same problem with a Trojan Horse and deleted it by force removal or something in the bottom corner.

You have to right click the item and scan worth AVG it may then be in the virus vault.

Open AVG and find the Virus Vault (may be in one of the menus). Select the virus and click the delete button (it is there somewhere).

AVG Free sucks. It has no firewall or rootkit detection, and as you see on the main screen of it ID Protection is inactive unless you buy the paid version. I use Symantec and never have any problems. It automatically quarantines viruses and spyware left and right and I just go in and delete them from my computer...although they delete themselves off after 14 days or whatever. If you want a free one that WORKS use Avira or Avast.

You should have anti-virus software on your PC at all times. Not just when you suspect you have caught something.

There are WAY too many viruses floating about nowadays, to go without protection.

Get yourself a firewall, anti-virus software and anti-spyware software. Make sure they are all properly installed and configured and use them.

Also, make sure your windows update is used regularly!

AVG is for suckers. you aren't a sucker, are you? avg isn't goood. use better av like avast or avira.sure, you can delete the virus from virus vault. and, if a virus is detected, click heal.i think you need better av.avira is better for heavy downloaders, avast is better for surfing.

The worst time to install anti-virus is after you've been infected. They are designed to keep you from getting infected.
