How do I reset the authentication password on Ubuntu 13.10?

Question

When I try to install an app,example.deb, Ubuntu opens the app store, and it has the example app store page, I click install, and and I need authentication. I forgot the password, how do I reset it? I'm very advanced with computers, so please just tell me, no need to simplify the answer.
