Question:
Wireless and internet security?
2010-10-09 08:47:33 UTC
I recently got wireless internet and the first threat i got was: win32/Autorun.IRCBot.FC worm

Since then I've had two more trojan attacks which my NOD 32 has blocked...or seemingly so. How can i get my pc clean of whatever it is infected with? I'm not sure if NOD32 is effective... Any suggestions on which anti virus software to use?

Help would be appreciated :)

Malwarebytes is very good at Trojans.

http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Run it and clear whatever it finds.

If it found anything do another scan in Safe Mode (tap F8 on startup).

We usually clean computers via Safemode with Networking

After that we download & install

Malware Bytes - http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Spyware Doctor - http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/

ClamAV - http://www.clamav.net/lang/en/ (we use a Linux version of this but they did recently come out with a windows version)

UPDATE before you scan!!

if you'd like download and install a program called 'Hijack This' and send the log to seanchiarot@gmail.com with the title 'HJT LOG'
