I'm logged in windows XP as an administrator but I don't have access to task manager either!!! Oh, and when i log on, it says some modules could not be found!! This is a Major SOS for me! what do i do? I scanned for viruses and spyware and all of that and it found and removed a bunch of stuff and this is still screwed up!

Run a full scan with Malwarebytes And SuperAntispyware. They are free and will not slow down your PC.Update them.Restart your PC in Safe Mode by pressing F8 while booting. Then run a full scan with each of them. The links are given below.

Since there are files missing the damage is already done. Even if you do remove all the infections it's too late i'm sorry to say.

The only thing you can do at this point is back up all of your Music, Pics, Favourites and Documents on a CD or external drive and reformat and install Windows fresh.

If your computer has a restore partition you could use that also.

When you're back up and running, purchase a good Anti-Virus and keep your computer up to date at Windows update. I suggest ESET Smart Security Suite.

Install all of your back up and don't open anything until you have scanned it for Virus infections.

If you can`t do this have a professional do it for you.

If you have lost a file then the virus has gone far. Try to run a boot scan. If it still doesn't work, you can manually erased the viruses through your registry editor. But this process is quite complicated and risky. So better do a back-up of your files and format your computer. This will totally eliminate the viruses in your computer.

Download from a different computer an anti-virus definition of your anti-virus.

Boot in safe mode

update virus definition

run anti-virus scan

remove the virus then restart in normal mode.

If this does not work, try doing a systems restore in safe mode.
