Should I be concerned for this phone call?

Yesterday I had a phone call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft Control Center. He was asking on who owns the laptop that we were using. My parents own the laptop but my Microsoft email address is connected to it.

The guy knew our house phone number and my mom's name. Could it be because my laptop was hacked and he got our email addresses?

When the person called I also found it strange as there were children sounding to be playing around, running, and screaming. I kinda find that suspicious because if you were working at Microsoft why would this be happening?

Afterwards the guy never called back as he said he would. Should I be concerned, and if yes what should I do?

Did you give him any more information than he already knew? If not, they I wouldn't be concerned. People call all the time claiming to be someone such as Microsoft to try to gain information. As long as you don't give them any information, there is no reason to be worried.

This sounds very suspicious. Call Microsoft themselves (not the number that called you) and ask if they called you. Most likely they will say no. You shouldn't be too worried, but as a precaution and for peace of mind, you should change your passwords, and maybe update your anti-virus software. Good luck!

This is a known scam. Just ignore it. If they call again, just hang up.
