I'm using firefox on vista. Whenever i try to download something, I click save file on the box that pops up, then it shows up in the firefox download box, but instead of downloading anything, it immediately says canceled. I can click the refresh button, and it starts and finishes, but when i double click on it, nothing comes up. I go into my downloads folder and attempt to open it, but a norton error message comes up saying that my internet security settings prevented one or more files from being opened. I've completely turned off norton as well as all internet security, but the download still won't work. What do i do?

You other people who answer don't know ****. This is how to fix the problem. Go into internet options and click the security tab. Move the slider to medium-high. Go to the privacy tab and set it to medium. If that still doesn't fix it, go back to the security tab and click on custom level. scroll down to the miscellaneous section and set to prompt both data sources across domains as well as launching applications and unsafe files. For some reason it's just a problem with .exe files, and this should fix it.

di you check the download boxes in your options. If that doesn't work try Internet Download Manager
