AVG is free for the download or you can buy it for about 39.99. I like Mcafee. It has anti virus anti spy ware firewall. Having a hard ware fire wall isn't good enough you need to get a software one as well. search and destroy are good. you don't want to run more then one anti virus but you can run 2 or 3 anti spy ware. Zonealarm is another good firewall software and its a free download and not much to config. Be very careful what you delete. What browser are you using. I recommend Firefox. Its allot better then IE and it delete cookies and passwords and some other stuff when you close it. I don't like Norton much and don't use there Norton security you'll have more problems with that one. Computers are never safe enough. You need to update at least every 2 days. The router has a great hardware firewall but you want to install one of the software ones as well. Run scan disk once a week and defrag once a week as well will help you out. I hope this helps

The best Internet Security Suite (Firewall, Anti-Spyware, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Pop-Up Blocker, Mail Scanner, and Parental Control) I have found is from Kapersky. They have a Free Virus Scanner here. http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner They also have a FREE 30day Full Version trial here. http://usa.kaspersky.com/trials/home-users/internet-security-7/

Kapersky has been rated at the top ( #1 or #2 ) by the leading independant review and

certifying boards year after year. These certifying boards are not sponsored by any

AV companies ( like Norton or McAffee or Bit Defender, etc.) Thir testing is actually scientific

and unbiased. I have tested and used many brands and this is the only one I use now.

If you Must use FREEWARE utilities. The best combination I have come up with is.

Comodo firewall, Spyware Terminator, and Avira Antivir

i would also runa soft firewall besides the hard router one

comodo or online armor are the 2 top free available

also a real time antispyware scanner

spysweeper perhaps or superantispyware paid as the free version is only good for 30 days of active scanning

throw in a hosts file like mvps hosts and i think u r good

You have some good protection if you have all of them but if you are looking for some free software I suggest visiting AVG free.com, they have a free download for virus protection and they also have the one you purchase. As for me I like anything free so go to avg free.com and download the free stuff don't forget it takes a little work to get it free just keep clicking free free free several times until it downloads then click run and it will run the software but if you click save you can save it to your desktop and run a scan when ever you wish. There are a few more but i am too tired tonight but if you are here to-marrow i will tell you the others.
