Best anti-virus to buy is Kaspersky or NOD32, the best free anti-virus is Avast 4.8.

None are the best!

Best suggested are ESET Smart Security NOD32 Version 3, Freeware version & Kaspersky Antivirus is Purchasable version. Just like you, I'll always download things!

NOD32 has fastest boot and scan, instant update during Windows starts.

AVG Antivirus (Freeware version) is one of the worst antivirus software i've ever used! Hopeless at virus detection, spyware, adware and etc. Slow & Long scanning depending to files (comonly slow).

Kaspersky is better than NOD32 in one aspect deep scanning.

I've used it for long term! So I knew that. I'm using NOD32 which is better than the rest!

Everybody as it own liking I have tryed lots of virus software out just to see how good it is . I find that System Suite 8 professional is one of the best out here. But virus software is as good as it's keeper you must update them just like your computer's OS you must updated to make work right amd cover all new virus's out here. You should update your every day you use it and you should it first thing you do with it. If you use auto update you must your on. That why I run updates myself because sometime the updates are not ready at that time. In other wise the computer only as good as it keeper just like your car. If you take care of it then it well take care of you.

AVG is the best FREE anti-virus out there. Virus free for 5 years.

I used to use McAfee and Norton - they both conflicted with my other programs and caused problems. I now use AVG and I have had no problems. You can download a free version at avg.com; I did that then I later on purchased the real version, which is much better. Hope this helps.

Kaspersky is the best, Either Kaspersky ant-virus or Kaspersky Internet Security Suite (all in one)

If you don't feel like paying, you could get Avira Antivir.

However, there is also a pay version for it with some more functions.

I use the free one and like it a lot.

It does not use up a lot of resources and I haven't had a single infection in month.

the best anti-virus is NO anti-virus.

the best thing you can do for your computer is download Spybot search and destroy, and run a virus scan every couple months.

Adding anti-virus will do nothing but slow down your movie downloading and your computer.

you can get spybot from here:
