If I change the DNS Suffix, will it affect my computer?

The dns suffix is the right hand part of a machine name stored in DNS. For example yahoo.com within answers.yahoo.com, the name of the machine serving this page. The DNS system is a catalogue of these names in which your computer looks up the text of a machine name in order to find the IP address. For example to find the IP address of microsoft.com. The program whois for example at the bottom of the netsol.com page will do the same thing visually so that you can see the IP address of a name. ip is not the same as dns suffix. changing this value will mostly likely not affect anything,

YES the dns suffix is part of your isp info. changing it will shut your internet down

it's not the same but if you do mess around with it.. make sure you make notes about it's signature before you change it... just in case you know?
