F-Secure Online Scanner will help you get rid of it: http://www.f-secure.com/en_US/security/security-lab/tools-and-services/online-scanner/ It's free and runs in your browser, Internet Explorer or Firefox.

If you gave the program your credit card information, contact your credit card company immediately.

You could avoid most problems like this by running an Internet security suite -- make sure you find a product that includes anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall.

well i had that fake virus remover a few days ago but i never got a black screen. i scanned my computer with mcafee. then i went to My Computer -> Program Files and deleted the windows anti virus pro. that stopped it from popping up but i suggest you also download avg and scan it again to get rid of any other viruses that might have gotten onto your computer.

Happy Computing :D
