okay so yesterday, I was stumblingupon. it's this app that takes you to random webpages that suite your interests, (example. Photoshop, Shopping, Shoes) so anyways, I arrive at this firefox page saying that I need to download a security tool, or something like that. I had a feeling it wasn't really firefox so I installed anyways. so then I start getting this fake "Anti Virus" thing that blocked every single application on my computer especially task manager because it was "infected" I managed to get rid of it, in safe mode. using malwarebytes. I read on an online article that that program was best for deleting that specific virus which wouldn't even let me access the internet, or google. it said everything was infected. but it's gone now poof. but it left this problem. whenever I click ANY google link, like for example if I click the first 2 or 6 any of the search results under the WEB tab, it redirects me to other websites other than the one I originally wanted to visit. I don't know how to fix this and this is where you come in, I really need your help. I can honestly say the situation is very difficult at the moment to the point where I had my water cut-off last week because I couldn't pay the bill, so can you please just help me fix this? I think it would be better if we met via IM or something because emails take super long to arrive back and forth, I don't have any messengers on my pc, if there's an online version of yahoo messenger I am more than willing to use it, just please help me..

Now do the following steps:

1. Boot into Safe Mode with Networking by pressing F8 during boot

2. Download Spybot Seach and Destroy from the link below

3. Install the program

4. Run the program and this will remove the virus.

This has worked in the past.

If the above does not work, try this:

Use a system repair disk or a Windows installation disk and boot to the recovery console and run system restore. Restore your system to a point prior to you having this issue. Once system restore completes, reboot your computer and your problem will be fixed. If you can't do that try booting into Safe Mode by pressing F8 and do a virus scan or do a system restore form there. If you don't have any of those disks, just create one from another computer from the Windows Backup Utility.
