It depends on what you mean by "permanently deleted." I will explain...
#1. If you mean - you put your folder in the trash /recycle bin and you've emptied it out.
If this is what you've done then it is possible that you may recover your data. Your drive keeps
what is called a 'mirror' even after you've emptied out your trash/recycle bin.
There is software available that can recover files from the mirror image.
#2. If you mean - you deleted your folders/files, AND you've also reformatted your drive, or reloaded
your operating system, then you probably will not be able to recover any data. When you reformat a
drive, everything is erased - it's wiped clean, so you end up with a drive that is the way it was when
you first opened it "out of the box."
