Question:
How do I convince my computer's Active X controls that URLs in my e-newsletter are safe?

I have been using Microsoft Word (HA HA) to create an e-newsletter for my wife. I create it as a web page and simply cut and paste the document into an outlook express e-mail and - TA DAA - an e-newsletter. It all works great for looks, but I cannot get the URL links to cut and paste with the document. I think it is because the Active X controls block them, since it pops up with an error message each time and says that some content in the web page may be blocked.

Is there a way around this without?

(Without buying new software, that is . . . )

I think if i understand your question, you do not need software to accomplish this...

you are copying "plain text" (just words no hidden nonsense) onto a "email" (which you send with the program outlook express)

Here is a pretty good "way around this" "without buying new software"

after typing your letter in word, select it all and hit "copy" (located under edit>copy) then open a new word document (just a clean page) and go and "paste it with unformated text". to do that, go to edit>past special> then select unformated uniacode text.

you will see... the page look very much the same, only difference is if you used any color, or different size font, it went away.... simply copy this plain text (now it really is nothing but text) and then paste it into your email.

Now, if all goes to plan... you should not get any weird unexpected "active X" problems.

(the only other problem that you might have is if it is not extra script you are sending that is causing this problem.... then you might have a virus that is adding content to your email,.. and using active X to spread itself... in that case, make sure your anti virus is up to date, or better yet talk to your local computer guy and he will take a look at it...)

I have stayed away from anything having to do with Active X.

A while back I tried something that was Active X and all it did was mess me up.

Soooo I stay away from it as far as possible in any way that I can.

There are other ways to get things across without having to use this.

*it was a pain in the patootie to get rid of all of its crud*

Good luck

and Happy Holidays to you and yours!

this isn't the case!!! installation lively X purely makes it extra uncomplicated for them. no longer all web pages are undesirable. only a majority. in case you even visit UPORN.COM its next to no longer attainable to signal off!
