Question:
PC won't open certain folders?

My computer (dell inspiron 1300 laptop) seems to be unable to open Folders. Folders only. For example, on my desktop I can open and run programs such as Microsoft Word 2003, Windows Live Messenger, etc. But it will not open folders such as My Documents and My Pictures. This is a very recent thing; it worked fine last night, but when I turned it on today it was like this. I've restarted it and now I haven't got a clue what to do next!

If it helps, I have Windows XP Home edition and use Eset NOD32 Antivirus (currently scanning).

I am also not very good with the computer stuff. So the simpler the better!

Thanks in advance :)

The fact that it worked last nite, and now does not, may be an indication of malware, use a FREE program to make sure, http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php ~

CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. CCleaner also fixes your registry. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware.

You can download cleaner for free here http://bit.ly/1kGZmoH

I would restart PC in safe mode by continually tapping F-8 key, choosing "Last Known Good Configuration" from menu (black screen). Next download, update, run Malwarebytes and ccleaner and restart PC when finished...
