I have norton internet security and antivirus on my computer ,

suddenly, my yahoo messenger stopped logging in

I tried to re-download and got this in reply :

Norton Internet Security has blocked access to this restricted site.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Site: http://messenger.yahoo.com/

Blocked categories: Interactive/Chat

If you think this web site is incorrectly categorized, visit the Symantec Internet Security Center to report it.

Even yahoomail gave me this :

Norton Internet Security has blocked access to this restricted site.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Site: http://mail.yahoo.com/?.refer=slv&.intl=us

Blocked categories: Interactive/Mail

If you think this web site is incorrectly categorized, visit the Symantec Internet Security Center to report it.

what seems to be the problem ?

Is yahoo and norton not in good terms anymore ?

Dear friend if you aren't able to log-on to YIM (yahoo instant messenger) right now, then there is no need to panic. YIM connects using port 5050 and its seems for some reason its not connecting to the server not just for me but for very many other users. So just wait until its restored.

Please folks no more questions on YIM anymore !!!!

Norton is dumb, or perhaps Yahoo got hacked by a virus hense why messenger and chat aren't working for anybody - and haven't been working for the past 5 hours and Norton just got notified and they are trying to protect you by blocking it?
