I'm pretty sure it's a virus but malwarebytes didn't get rid of it.

It's supposedly Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool & also Windows Command Processor.

What would happen & how do I get rid of it if it's a virus.

PS: How can I determine if it's a virus?

Thanks!

Well if you where doing a update Windows Malicious Software tool is legit. When you click on yes it will allow the program to run and check your computer.

Well you can be fairly sure that it isn't a virus because, any self respecting virus would not ask...it would just down load.

Regarding the message, it's your anti viral software showing over vigilance in that the site you have just visited wants to send you a cookie, or such, and thinks that you might like to know, especially if you are visiting a iffy Webb site. It which case you can select to have or not. It's likely to be completely innocent, if your protective software was at all concerned it would not allow....So, go ahead and accept.

NB just make a note of the date/time so that you can if necessary attribute any change to the episode

PS The only practial way you you are ever going to know if it is a virus, or any other attack is that your anit virus software will throw it out....don't worry about it, let your anti virus software do its job

If you select "Yes" on "Would You Like The Following Program To Make Changes To Your Computer" the program will get Administrator access, which means it can seriously damage your operating system (Access to important system files, and even the option to make it always run with Administrator access)

To see if it is a virus, upload the file to https://www.virustotal.com/en/ (Always click "Re-analyze")

Once the scan is done and post a link to the scan (just copy the link in the address bar) on this question on Yahoo Answers (Click "Add information" and paste)

Hmmmmmm if what you are downloading is from somewhere you trust click yes otherwise no, if you click yes it allows the programming to change things in your PC, performance speed data usage etc
