e-mail. check user authentication?

Each time I go onto outlook express I get an ' unable to log onto server' window followed by an e-mail problem has been detcted, diagnose or ignore' If I diagnose it, it asks for an e-mail password prompt. I have never had to use a password for e-mail. Whatever I put in it comes up 'check user authentication. Can't suss it!

The best way is to ring your server and get the information you need. They are there to help you and together on the phone you can get it sorted out proprery. I have had to do that and i have had no problems since. The only other time is if the server is actually down then it can't connect to emails and internet.

When you created your email account, at @hotmal.com or any other email service, you were asked to set a password. Try to remember the password or use "Forget password" function at your email company.
