I've recently had to use manual updates for the antivirus as the automatic updates fail to install.
But to get the manual updates i have to walk into town and use another computer.

I uninstalled Avira 10 and reinstalled it last night, and it was working (downloading updates).
I try it today and its not working.
I've turned off the firewall and changed Lan settings... but still no joy.

I have no idea what to do.
Its updating on Vista but not XP.

Can someone please help me?

I've always liked the protection offered by Avira Free. Except for two things. One being the false positives. The other being the on going problems with updating it. If you go to Avira support you will find that several users are having updating problems. You are the third person on yahoo answer to have a problem in the last 24 hrs. Go to Avira support and see if they have any answers for you. You may be making all the changes to your computer for nothing.

confident, in case you install Avira Anti Virus 10, it is going to over write 9. in actuality, I basically put in the replace a pair days in the past. :-) on your case, it is nice to get the English version because of the fact it is going to over write!
