I know you can report phishing e-mails to the US Computer Emergency Readiness Team under the Department of Homeland Security, but does it do any good (http://www.us-cert.gov/nav/report_phishing.html)? Do they even have people handling that or does it all go to an e-mail box that never gets checked?

I would pray that they do but I'm afraid a lot of them never will because we can't touch them. I've written several letters and you should to, to our congressmen to crack down on this and pass tougher laws to go after criminals that prey on unsuspecting people. I've traced several of these Phishing emails and a lot of them originate in China and Twaiwan and places like that where our laws have no jouridiction. That is the problem in tracking many of them down. Our politicians need to pass legislation that will penalize countries that won't do anything about the criminals inside their borders. Or maybe block their IP addresses so they have no access to sites inside the US borders. I do believe that if they do catch them that there needs to be a lot more publicity of the information about these arrests to deter more people from trying to copy them. The problem is that none of our local, state or federal super hero crime fighters wanna go after these cheap crooks that only steal under $2000.00 or so of your money and run. I try to forward copies of all my phishing emails to the state attorney general. I doubt that does any good but at least it plugs up his email and he can't deny he knows something about the problem.

It is just best to delete it. You can report and keep reporting but there are millions of phishing going on.There is not much anyone can do since a lot of phishing is from outside of USA.
