I run windows vista and my antivirus software came up saying something was trying to access the internet do I want to allow/allow instance.deny.block or whatever and this comes up everyday on my computer for normal programs like my browser for example or itunes whenever I update it.

Basically this fishy looking thing came along asking for access and I denied it but a few hours later I mistakingly allowed it thinking it was something else. Now my computer is infected with terrible malware and usually I will have my anti malware program run a scan and get rid of it but I can't even start the scan.

Everytime I click a program to open it says "program error your computer is infected want to run your anti virus software now?" and I say no because I know it's the malware displaying that message. Anyway how can I get rid of this malware when I can't even run one of my programs?? : \

Try starting task manager (ctrl+shift+esc) right after being logged in. There choose file->new task and enter full path to good antivirus executable.

Do you know the name of this fishy thing? If so, that first link Mark gave you has a search box partway down on the right. Type the name of the malware into there. In the top of the results, you'll most likely find a guide to removing this thing. The guide will have you run through some steps to force the malware to let your computer run a scanning program. You'll most likely be running rkill or fix.reg and then Malwarebytes.

Here's the link again:

Hello asker,

Unfortunately, you need a better anti-virus, and that is not possible unless you have a flash drive and another computer that has internet and works. "A flash drive is a Portable device that holds memory, Latest flash drives can hold up to 8G of memory. But your going to need a 2G for this one". now read these 10 instructions carefully:

1. Insert the flash drive in the other computer you have.

2. Search "AVG free" (a well known, working, and free antivirus)

3. Find the download page and download it directly into your Hardrive not flash drive (you will see why soon).

4. After that, go back to google and search "Malwarebytes" (my personal favorite malware and spyware remover)

5. Download that into your hardrive

6. once thats done, install both installers you downloaded INTO YOUR FLASH DRIVE this time.

7. After that, take the falsh drive out of that computer and insert into your infected computer.

8. copy (or cut) and paste both those installed folders into your computer.

9. Do a full scan with both of the anti-viruses i told you to install.

10. Good luck! :)

I hope this helps and gets rid of most of your viruses so you can atleast use Internet so you can look up more anti-viruses to put on for more protection.

I dont know what you have but if its a security suite you paid for or somthing like that then dont get Avast free, just get the other two and continue.

Download these [safemode with networking, explained later]

Malwarebytes

Avast Free Anti Virus

Spybot Search & Destroy

[They will not conflict with each other.]

Spybot is all free and the other two are trials but are basically the same as the paid versions.

If this "virus" wont let you download or run these, just restart your pc in safe mode with networking. Press F8 as soon as your pc starts to power up. press it over and over. May take a few restarts.

Update the programs, then run each one one by one. This should clear the problem. If you have enough ram, enable Malwarebytes protection module if you paid for it, and also enable Spybots "TeaTimer". TeaTimer protects your registry. Your registry is basically critical system files and settings, like windows system 32. (What most infections attack to gain control over your pc)

[run Spybot] mode>advanced>tools>resident>check "teatimer"

This is a powerful combo I personally use (all paid versions of course) and I put it on all my friends computers when there messed up.

This will clear your problem up and keep you safe. Update regularly by the way.
