This question is mostly for american internet customers. Do you care for the brand of the SSL certificate of the websites? I want to set a SSL to a tourism page in which the people could send me attachments from the contact page. Attachments with confidential info, like the scanned driver license for example and a PDF containing home address, full name, telephone, ID number, and so on.

No money transaction, because in case needed, this will be operated by Paypal and we know, we can trust Paypal.

My concern is for the just contact page, If You have to attach this confidential info, do you need to see a SSL certificate? do you trust particular brand? GoDaddy, Thawte, Commodo, Geotrust, RapidSSL? I am thinking to implement a RapidSSL for the price and as I mentioned my site will not process payments directly. That will be through the Paypal's interface.

For You as internet customer... Do you trust Rapid SSL? Remember that is not for money transactions...

I wait opinions, suggestions, also in spanish.

I never heard of RapidSSL, So I would get goDaddy's lower end SSL certificate for what you want to do.

I've never heard of RapidSSL either. This website has a bunch of SSL information including coupons to save you some money -

"...most trusted Certification Authority..." I can't believe that. GoDaddy has have IP phone for my country and I read testimonials that the technical support doesn't work and the price is tricky.

I found the one(https://cheapsslsecurity.com/rapidssl/rapidsslcertificate.html) in this year of 2013 which selling cheap rapidssl certificates at $6.50/yr
