Sign in to Yahoo Messenger.



Go to Messenger -> Account Info.



Verify your password.



Look for Sign-In and Security under Account Information and Choose Change your Password option.



Enter your Current Password, Choose a new Password and Confirm your new Password. Refer to the picture on the left if necessary.



Save.

Click on the Yahoo! Messenger icon found on your computer desktop, or enter the program from the Yahoo! home page. Log in to Yahoo! Messenger with your user ID and current password. Click the "Yahoo! Messenger" link when the Yahoo! Messenger window opens.

Go to "My Account Info." This will take you to the Yahoo! Messenger account information page.

Find the link that reads "Change Password." Type your old password into the first field, then type a different password into the new password field.

They will ask for your password for security reasons, after that you should see a link called 'Change your password,' under the 'Sign-in and Security'.

to change your password there are two ways... the way i always change my password is you go to forget password, then it will ask you for your email address then you go through the verification process an if you have any questions set on your page then it will ask you for a new pass word an have you verify it too then there you go. there is a simpler way but i don't remember it!! lol
