Unless you are low on disk space or you have a lot of stuff autostart on bootup, these shouldn't slow down your computer for the most part. I'd try standard stuff like DiskClean/Defrag, cleaning registry, increasing swap file size and the like before starting to delete stuff.

That said, you can probably lose the Adobe stuff...if you hit a web site or doc that needs one of them, you'll probably be given the option to reinstall that particular component. (I'd echo the previous comment on FoxIt over Acrobat - excellent free product.)

The C++ and Visual Studio stuff you can lose if you don't do any development (tho that begs the question of why they were installed to begin with.)

SQL Server less clear-cut...it's possible you have some apps that use it as their DBMS - I'd tread carefully there. If you decide to uninstall it, I'd back it up first so you can recover in case some other apps stop working.

Firefox and Internet Explorer are browsers...you probably don't need both but retaining both should be harmless unless you're REALLY tight on disk space. If so, decide which you like best and get rid of the other.

OCR Software,Paint.NET, WinRar and Windows Live are all probably losable.

PowerCinema, QuickTime, Viewpoint and Windows Media Player are somewhat redundant...you can probably get by with just Media Player if you really had to.

You can safely uninstall these - many more if I knew you didn't use things like SQL and visual studio...

- Acrobat.com

- Adobe Media player

- Adobe reader 9.3.2

- Apple Application support

- Apple Mobile Device Support

- Apple software update

- ATI parental Control & Encoder

- ATI problem report wizard

- Download Updater (AOL LLC)

- Efficient Networks SpeedStream DSL

- HP Customer Participation Program 11.0 & other HP stuff [ my printer, scanner, etc.]

- Java DB 10.4.2.1

- Java (TM) 6 update 20

- Java (TM) SE devolpement kit 6 update 17

- Java (TM) SE devolpement kit 6 update 16

- Microsoft WinUSB 1.0

- NirSoft ShellExView

- OpenAL

- Paint.NET v3.5.5

- PowerCinema NE for Everio

- Viewpoint Media Player

- Windows Live Essentials

- Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner

- Windows Live Sign-in Assistant

- Windows Live Upload tool

If you uninstalled all of the above, you will need to install the latest java support from java.com...also pick up foxit reader to replace adobe reader (200MB for adobe, 7MB for foxit reader and foxit is 100 times faster)

You can also kill ALL the HP stuff, that stuff always cause problems....get the corporate driver from HP and it is just your printer driver....it doesn't have all the junk that loads with windows to tell you to add paper and toner and such....

When done defrag will be needed

Simply having programs exist on your hard drive doesn't necessarily make your computer "slow".

First thing to do is do a disk check on drive C:, followed by a defragment. Next, open Task Manager and see what programs are running. Figure out which ones you don't need running constantly, then use msconfig (Click Start->Run and type in msconfig) and disable then from running at startup. Then go through your list of programs and decide what you really don't need at all (are you still using Adobe After effects and Visual C++? Those take up a lot of hard drive space.) and uninstall them.

if using Vista are you uninstalling it through the Programs and Features option in the Control panel? Another sloppy way to remove just that program and not it's registry stuff is just to find that folder in your Program Files and just delete the entire folder.
