I need an anti - virus- software?

i need an anti virus software to my sys. how can i download it as FREE.
PLS SUGGEST ME WHICH IS THE BEST ONE.

You need both Anti-Virus and Anti-Spy/Malware solutions. Not all products cover all of these areas so you need to pick and choose to get COMPLETE coverage. Most of the FREE products need the PAID upgrade to get the more complete coverage features, both anti-virus and anti-malware features.

As to the FREE products, Avira's Antivir has a detection rate of over 99%, includes "root-kit" protection, and uses less system resources. Avast detection rate is around 97.8% and includes "root-kit" protection. Avast Anti-Virus is good if people suggest that, Avira is just slightly better.



Many people praise AVG, but AVG’s detection rate is less than 85% for Script Malware and General Malware, and does NOT include "root-kit" protection in the FREE version…plus, slower scan speeds and a higher number of "false positives".



A good FREE mix could be Avira and Malwarebytes, with McAfee Site Advisor (FREE) installed as well.



Or, a good BUY/FREE mix could be Kaspersky and AdAware (or Malwarebytes), with McAfee Site Advisor.

1.i am using avast.its very efficient.update is also fast and best scanning.update ur browser always.its important.

The best ones I would say, and the only reason i say this is because i have never gotten a virus. Sure some of them you have to pay, but some you don't. I use: Norton, Spybot (search and destroy) and Zone Alarm. I have never gotten a virus or any thing that harms my computer so Spybot and Zone alarm are free, and i only use Norton to scan my computer and have phishing protection, which you could probably use another program (which spybot can scan).

I've used McAfee in the past but found a few free versions that work just as good. Go to cnet/downloads.com. Plenty of free programs, read reviews of others that have tried any particular program. AVG and Avira are both good programs. I also downloaded the free version of Zone Alarm as well, which is a Firewall. I had that program years ago and it is amazing.

Heh, you don't need Mac since many programs don't work on it and only few works on it that doesn't work on Windows. ;P

It relies upon on which software has greater as much as date "virus definition" data. Any answer is a guess. i might guess the av-xp is nice until the McAfee utility is as much as this point too. reckoning on the severity of the an infection, it must be maximum suitable to flow away it on my own. Anti virus utility has exchange into worse than the virus themselves.

A programmer put zonealarm in mine because it is free. Keeps the hackers and other malicious things. I have had and still have them all.

That is spybot. I have not figured out why he put it in there. I will some day. You do not use 2 antivirus because they conflict and slow down your computer. So, you do not use everythng in spybot. When I put my arrow on it, it says processes blacklists. He did something there. I update it and that is it.
