So I just restarted my computer and opened Internet explorer when Norton Antivirus popped up and said it found a threat (Backdoor.Graybird). I chose to use Norton antivirus to 'fix' it and after a few minutes of 'working', Norton said it was resolved. Just to make sure, I restarted my computer and ran a full system scan TWICE. only to have a tracking cookie come up (pretty normal) both times with no sign of Backdoor.Graybird. So should I feel safe and trust Norton that Backdoor.Graybird is gone? Please help!!!

I would say yes, but if you're still not sure, go to the Symantec website and run another scan, or look for a fix for that specific virus. After all. It doesn't hurt to be extra protective of your computer.

Yes a tracking cookie is either made from your computer such a atdm or something of that sort ,or it come from the regular sites that you visit. Just get rid of cookies and history manually or download CCleaner to get rid of it with a click of a button for you(its free.)

Yes. Norton is about the best AV program you can get. If it says something is gone, trust it.

Yes.

Backdoor.Graybird is "moderate" to remove, so your system should be OK. You can easily check for its presence: search for the file Svch0st.exe on your system.

You might wish to try going to another vendor (McAfee, for instance) who offers a free online scan to double-check.
