I have a pc running Vista Business on the network running the most current version of symantec corporate security as well as the most current defintions. Windows updates have all been installed, however the windows security center states that my malware and virus protection is off. The pc reports to the symantic server saying everything is fine. Any way to fix this besides just turning virus monitoring off from the windows vista side
I obviously tried to turn it ON. lol. That did not work because you can't turn something on that is already on. It is running fine, and reports correctly to the server. The problem lies between windows and symantec not communicating properly./
remember this is SYMANTEC CORPORATE 10x not norton or some home antivirus software. this pc is a member of my SBS 2003 domain controller

if two security programs are running on the same computer, a tendency that they will battle each other. so since your Windows Security Center is reporting the problem, I guess you need to turn off the Windows Firewall and leave the Norton to do the job to protect your PC.

At the security center, click on the symantec thing an click "On" and see if that'll fix it.

If you know it's on just go into the control panel and enter the security center and turn off the notifications.
