tor is extremly safe. In fact i think ud be able to hack government websites like the cia and they would not be able to trace u. Which is what a lot of the hacking groups do actually.

Tor is alot safer than maximum proxies are or different VPN's and its an exceedingly solid gadget for amonymity with that being reported Tor isn't suitable there are situations the place whilst making use of Tor that folk might desire to be sure what your doing beacuse of the go out nodes that Tor leaves at the back of inspite of the undeniable fact that this isn't any longer some thing to be traumatic approximately by way of fact Tor has different Layers of encryption and this is tremendously risk-free to apply. it could be very stressful for somebody to be conscious of who you're, the place your at, or what your doing mutually as making use of Tor. And no people who're on the Tor community won't see suggestion approximately your pc.

I agree with the above posters. Tor is safe and it works. The problem is people think that you can install it and that is all. There are MANY things in your computer that can tell on you even if you use tor. If you are the paranoid type (not a bad thing), use a live cd that will route all internet traffic through the tor network. They will not touch your HDD and will wipe the memory on shutdown. They are as safe as you can be.

Added:

Charlie Kelly, you are correct. I made a mistake in posting a link. In the above 2 links one is for Liberte Linux, and the other is from The Linux Foundation. The second link was for another answer. I posted the wrong link. I meant to include TAILS.

Thanks for correcting the error.

You sound like you should read more, it's as safe as you make it.

Edit: @Chet, Thanks, but how can you forget about tails? it's only on the Tor website. https://tails.boum.org/
